"A gentle and effective hands-on approach to healthcare, based on the principle that the way your body moves influences how it functions. Osteopaths are highly competent healthcare professionals, recognised by the NHS as fully qualified to diagnose and treat independently. Over 30,000 people every day visit an osteopath suffering from a variety of conditions. You don’t need a referral from your doctor to see an osteopath and you won’t have to wait long to be seen.
Whatever your age and no matter what challenges you may have with your health, there is probably something an osteopath can do to help"
Osteopathy, like other types of treatment, has associated side effects. These can vary from mild side effects, which are common, to moderate side effects, which are less common, to serious effects which are rare.
The benefits of osteopathy are the general improvement in mobility and structural stability of the body. In turn, other systems of the body such as the circulatory, nervous and lymphatic systems function more effectively and for a number of general conditions, minimal treatment is required.
If you are suffering from back or joint pain, and think that Osteopathic Treatments might help you, we'd be happy to hear from you. Please get in touch with us today to book a consultation or treatment.
Research has shown that there are moderate to substantial improvements in low back pain with osteopathic treatment (J.C. Licciardone et al. 2013) and that patients were less likely to need hospital treatment for their back pain if they had osteopathic treatment (National Council for Osteopathic Research NCOR 2011).
Osteopathic manipulation is likely to improve neck pain and neck function following 1-4 treatment sessions, especially if the treatment is combined with exercise. More than 70% of patients considered they were improved or much improved after their 1st appointment. After 3-4 treatment sessions more than 80% had improved.
